Plaka in Hitzacker

I knew the Greeks (restaurant) 25 years ago and was happy to go out to eat there again after such a long time. The first thing I noticed was the atmosphere in the new location as being absolutely negative. Then the greeting of the boss and the service were very rude. The waitress came to our table with a "face" as if it was annoying to serve customers. After what felt like an eternity (40 minutes) the food finally came. That was the worst meal I've ever been served in a restaurant. The meat was dry as ice, but everything - the liver, the alleged filet, the souvlaki, the lamb chop, the bifteki and even the french fries were bone dry. The salad was standard and extremely carelessly arranged. After checking whether we liked it, I honestly answered -no. Then the unfriendly waitress said snappy that it was probably just my feeling ...... So I cannot understand these positive reviews here, they are probably only written by regular guests, as we had the impression that they were treated more friendly. our conclusion: never again! If the Greek is tired of treating his guests kindly and serving reasonable food, he should perhaps consider giving up his job. not even worth a star, but had to give it because otherwise I couldn't post the article.

We have been coming to Hitzacker with our motorhome at least once a year for a long time and the food at the Greek restaurant is consistently good to very good. I especially liked the handmade octopus salad and the wheat beer on tap 😋🍺

The owner is very rude. I ordered a cherry spritzer and got a bottle of water and a bottle of juice. When I asked why I should now pay for two drinks, even though I only ordered a small spritzer, he failed. Other guests then confirmed to me that the owner is pretty bold. Then he kicked me out of the shop and yelled at me that I didn't have to talk to the other guests. Awesome number! But since the demand in Hitzacker probably exceeds the supply, he can probably afford it.

A nice eatery with seats outside. Our food was very tasty and above all very plentiful. We had a mixed meat platter with rice, fries and salad. And the starter - stuffed grape leaves - tasted great too. So, we can highly recommend it, therefore 5 stars.

The service was friendly and there was no long wait. Although the Greek was full we didn't have to wait long for our food. The food was delicious and sufficient. The restaurant also has a nice atmosphere. I would always recommend the Greek.

Since I was a little kid, we go there and have never experienced anything bad. The food was and is always excellent. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. I will continue to recommend to anyone to eat there if you are in the area. It is worth it!
